Hello Dr. Robinson,

I am working with Dr. Green on a study investigating the experiences of counselors with cyber racism in online counseling spaces. We have gotten both IRB approval and a research grant through Counselors for Social Justice to do this. Would you be willing to share this survey with our program's listserv? Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am including the information below:

We would like to invite you to participate in an IRB-approved study we are conducting to examine the prevalence and impact of cyber racism in online professional networks within the counseling profession. Cyber racism is defined in this study as electronic and digital communication by groups or individuals which seeks to denigrate and discriminate against individuals based on their race and ethnicity. This study was approved by the IRB of James Madison University (IRB Protocol #21-2555).

You may participate if you are currently a member or have formerly been a member of an online network in the counseling profession within the past 12 months. Participants will be asked to complete an online survey that will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Risk to participating in this study may include emotional discomfort due to recalling exposure to racism. Participants will have the option to opt into a drawing for a $10 gift card after completing the study.
