Marietta College - Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Job Description:
The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Marietta College is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling to begin employment in MAY of 2020. This is a 3 year fixed term appointment with the potential to become a tenure track position based upon demonstrated abilities of the candidate as indicated in the annual review process. The selected applicant will join the new program as the third core faculty member of the program. The 11-month position will require teaching 3 courses per each regular academic semester with some online Summer teaching.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach core and specialization courses in the Counseling Program. Faculty members are also expected to demonstrate scholarly productivity, as reflected in publications, professional presentations, and/or grant funding. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, student advising, admissions, curriculum/assessment development, and general departmental, professional and university service.
Preference will be given to candidates who can teach advanced counseling courses in the counseling program and supervise practicum/fieldwork courses. The successful candidate will: contribute to the department's mission of providing outstanding teaching, research, and service; have an appreciation of diverse constituencies and add to the department's commitment to diversity; have the ability to collaborate productively with students and faculty at MC; and have strong oral and written communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills.
A summary of job duties includes, but is not limited to:

  *   Teach core and specialty courses in a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program
  *   Develop and Oversee the counseling program practicums, and internships
  *   Oversee CMHC curriculum mapping and assessment to meet programmatic, and regional accreditation standards
  *   Conduct counseling program student interviews and serve as an advisor for clinical mental health counseling students
  *   In collaboration with the Office of Admissions, recruit counseling students through graduate fairs and marketing
  *   Assist with building relationships and setting up potential articulation agreements and potential collaborations with other counseling programs

Requirements:
REQUIRED:

  *   An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program. Applicants who can document degree completion and posting ahead of May 2020 may be considered.
  *   Potential of service and scholarship in the profession
  *   Candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the College
  *   Active participation in professional counseling organizations
  *   LPC or licensure eligibility in Ohio
PREFERRED:

  *   Experience in teaching graduate-level counseling and related courses
  *   Clinical supervision experience
  *   Clinical experience with treating addictions
  *   Evidence of service and scholarship in the field
  *   LPCC-S or eligibility in Ohio
