Specifically, we are in the NCACES region and our upcoming biennial regional conference is in Cleveland, OH (http://ncaces18.ncaces.org/) and I encourage you to engage in both regional and national ACES.

Dear Future Counselor Educator,

I hope that you will consider joining the largest affiliated division within the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the largest organization supporting counselor educators and supervisors in the world: The Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES).

Additionally, membership in ACES automatically provides membership to one of the five regional ACES organizations in which you reside (NARACES, NCACES, RMACES, SACES, and WACES). We are a volunteer organization over 3,500 members strong.

The impact of ACES is evident through the impact of our members who comprise counselor educators, counseling supervisors, and students who will be future counseling practitioners, supervisors, and educators. ACES serves as the very foundation for counseling professionalism.

The 2018-19 Presidential Initiatives include a range of task forces pertinent to counselor education and supervision, so several member opportunities exist. Some of our committees include Awards, By-laws, Membership, Product Development, and Research Grants, as well as special topic committees such as Social Justice and Human Rights. We also boast a rich array of special interest networks including Advocacy, Clinic Directors, College Student Affairs, Clinical Mental Health, Department Chairs, Doctoral Programs, Ethical and Professional Issues, International Counseling, Multicultural Counseling, New Faculty, Qualitative Research, Rural Counselors, School Counselors, Technology, and Women’s Mentoring. Members also attend and participate in both national and regional conferences targeting clinical supervision, as well as counselor education.
