The CACREP accredited Counseling Program at Southeastern Louisiana University seeks a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor with an area of focus in one or more of the following: Research, Assessment, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, and Play Therapy, beginning Fall 2018. Responsibilities include teaching graduate counseling courses, advising and mentoring students, supervising practicum and/or internship classes, engaging in scholarly activity and university and community service, and participating in all aspects of the program's administration. Applicants must be committed to working with a diverse student population. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited institution by the date of hire, and be licensed, or eligible to license, as a Professional Counselor in Louisiana. Applicants who are ABD will be considered provided the doctorate is earned by August 2018. The preferred applicant will have clinical counseling experience, be able to demonstrate potential for successful scholarly activity, evidence of active participation in professional counseling organizations. Preference will also be given to applicants with college teaching experience, including online instruction. The Counseling Program at Southeastern awards master's degrees in the following areas: Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling; and School Counseling.
