  *   Opioid Epidemic Events
     *   A message from the PDSJA Committee: The opioid epidemic is deadly, scary, and taboo. We at the PDSJA Committee feel it is important for counselors and other helping professionals to better understand this tragic phenomenon-- the impact it is having on our clients, communities, and even other helping professionals. To develop a better understanding of this crisis, and to build a repertoire of resources to combat it, please consider attending the following events.[cid:C4ABDE3D-A5D6-4EC6-BB15-42FB56C3A079][cid:01F0AB6C-B96E-42B0-9EDE-E9F5DD9E721D]


  *   A Guide to Upsetting Rape Culture

     *   The Monument Quilt is a public healing space by and for survivors of rape and abuse. The Monument Quilt is an on-going collection of stories from survivors that are written, stitched, and painted onto red fabric. The stories are displayed in city and town centers to create and demand public space to heal. The quilt resists the popular and narrow narrative of how sexual violence occurs by telling many stories, not one. The quilt builds a new culture where survivors are publicly supported, rather than publicly shamed.

        *   Informative Lecture and Discussion: October 12, 2017 from 7-9pm at Schoonover Hall 145 (Right across Union St. from the College Green).
