ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANTICIPATED CERTIFICATED VACANCY

Position: Guidance Counselor

Location: Springfield High School

Qualifications:
Valid and appropriate School Counselor certificate/license from the State of Ohio.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and administrators.
Willingness to work in school sponsored and school related activities.
Demonstrated willingness to meet the needs of all students including special needs students through a variety of professional strategies.
Demonstrated application of Ohio Standards for the School Counseling profession
Demonstrated skills with Google Applications.
Knowledge of End of Course exams and how to calculate graduation points.
Ability to coordinate scholarship and college applications with universities, local organizations, students and parents.
Ability to coordinate high school and college credit plus schedules.
Ability to coordinate activities and programming with career technical school.
Experience in counseling and assisting students for educational, personal, social and related needs.
Experience collaborating with teachers to help students; plan, conduct group guidance activities.
Demonstrated ability to work with the administrative staff and other school personnel in planning, developing and conducting the total guidance program, curriculum study and
research.
Ability to work with parents, individuals and groups in coordinating school and community resources and activities which contribute to high school success and beyond.
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
Experience working with a culturally diverse student population preferred.
