Visiting Professor, Counseling and Art Therapy Department



Background:

Ursuline College, a small liberal arts college in Pepper Pike, Ohio, is seeking a full-time, visiting faculty member to assume teaching and advising responsibilities in its graduate Counseling and Art Therapy Program beginning January 10, 2017 through June 15, 2017.   The program is committed to providing education and training in clinical mental health counseling and art therapy.



Responsibilities include:

•      Teaching graduate level counseling courses

•      Advising students and participating in prospective student interviews

•      Participating in department and college meetings and committees as appropriate

•      Assisting with departmental responsibilities such as accreditation processes, curriculum and program development, practicum and internship, thesis, and fulfilling other duties as assigned



Qualifications:

•      Doctorate in Counselor Education preferably from a CACREP accredited program. (If doctorate is in a related field, a minimum of one full academic year as a faculty member in a counselor education program completed before July 1, 2013.)

•      Preferred master’s degree in art therapy with an ATR-BC and/or have an affinity for creative and expressive approaches

•      Licensed PCC, preferably with supervisory status

•      Active participation in state, national, and local professional organizations

•      Evidence of continuing scholarly work

•      Competence in teaching

•      Administrative skills

•      Experience in addictions services a plus



Candidates must have excellent communication skills, flexibility, mature judgment, and a commitment to teaching in a collaborative and values-based environment with a focus on promoting individual student success.
