Subject: Request for research participation: Doctoral students and early career professionals
Dear Dr. Erby:
I am writing to request that you forward the recruitment letter to your student list-serv and alumni list-serv. All students and early career professionals from doctoral counselor education and supervision programs or doctoral clinical/counseling programs are eligible to complete the study.
Thank you kindly!
Stephanie Hoover, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Western Oregon University
Dear Doctoral Trainees and Early Career Professionals,
I’m Stephanie Hoover, a counseling psychologist at Western Oregon University, and I conduct research on doctoral training and trainees’ experiences. This study explores diverse perspectives on social justice. This study is approved by WOU IRB (#784).
Eligibility: To be eligible to participate, you must be a doctoral student or graduate of a clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or counselor education and supervision program. (The psychology program must be APA-accredited or CPA-accredited. If you are a graduate, you must have graduated in 2005 or later). I am interested in participation from people who are diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual identity, religion, and ability.
Survey: Participation requires filling out an online survey (20-30 minutes). At the end of the survey, you can enter into a raffle drawing to win 1 of 10 $50 gift cards.
To complete the informed consent and immediately access the survey, click here: http://goo.gl/forms/2XfyYUV6w4
At the end of the survey, you will have the option of providing your email if you are interested in optional interviews. The optional interviews are audio recorded: an initial interview (1-2 hours), a follow-up (30-60 minutes), and the opportunity to provide feedback on preliminary analysis (30 minutes). I encourage you to provide your contact information to determine eligibility.
I appreciate your interest in the study. Please distribute widely, as diverse participation is important to this study.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Hoover, Ph.D.
