The Miami Valley Counseling Association (MVCA) is still accepting applications for presentations for the upcoming Trauma Conference on June 5.  We still have a few time slots open for quality presentations.  We will except applications until March 31st.



The Miami Valley Counseling Association (MVCA), in partnership with South Community, Inc., and the Ohio Mental Health Counselors Association (OMHCA) is pleased to announce that it will host a Trauma Conference on June 5, 2015.  We are honored and excited that our keynote speaker will be Immediate Past President of the American Counseling Association, Dr. Cirecie West-Olatunji.  The conference will be held at the Indiana Wesleyan University Dayton Campus at 2912 Springboro Rd., Dayton, OH 45439, from 8:00am – 3:30pm.  Further details will be forthcoming.



At this time, we are calling for applications to present trauma-related topics: assessment, diagnosis, treatment, interventions, prevention, advocacy or other.  Presentations can be conceptual or empirical and should be two (2) hours in length.  You may use any format you choose: lecture, PowerPoint, interactive activities, a combination of any or all of these, or another format of your choosing.  Projectors will be provided, however you will need to bring your own laptop.  Free Wi-Fi will be available as well.  Masters and doctoral students are invited to present jointly with a university faculty or licensed clinician. Presentation acceptance will be communicated in early April. Presenters must be a member or MVCA, OCA, OMHCA, or employees of South Community, Inc.
