The Lorain County Joint Vocational School is accepting applications for the position of:

Guidance Counselor
(High School 9-12)
 
Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center.  
It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.

STARTING DATE:
August 2015	

SALARY:	
Based on appropriate salary schedule, commensurate with experience and education.

REPORTS TO:
Principal

BENEFITS:

WORK WEEK/YEAR:	
As per Board adopted calendar plus extended days to be determined

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree in School Counseling
	Ohio School Counselor License
	Ability to work with students of varied ability levels
	Flexibility to work with various schedules and grade levels
				
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:	
Effective student/parent/community communication skills Experience working with high school age students Post-secondary planning and application process Career planning
	             Special needs awareness
Communication, problem-solving and decision-making Conflict resolution Substance abuse education Multicultural/Diversity awareness Individual and small-group counseling Individual/family/school crisis intervention Technology related skills
Eligible to obtain a school van driver's certificate
