			California State University, Sacramento invites applications from individuals interested in joining our dynamic and growing faculty. With a current student population of about 28,000, Sacramento State, the capital University, is one of the larger campuses in the 23-campus California State University system, the largest system of higher education in the nation. The University is organized around eight colleges. There are approximately 1,700 faculty who provide programs of instruction leading towards bachelor’s degrees in 60 disciplines and Master’s degrees in 40 disciplines, two joint doctoral programs, and one independent doctoral program.
			
			Sacramento is a high-growth metropolitan area with a population of approximately 2 million. 			Minimum / Required Qualifications
			
			Education:
			Earned doctorate in Counseling, Career Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field, or doctorate to be completed by August 2014.
			
			Special Knowledge and Abilities, and Experience:
			Eligibility for Rehabilitation Counselor Certification required. Experience working as a Career Counselor and/ or Rehabilitation Counselor with diverse populations including individuals with
			disabilities. Specialized knowledge related to career counseling theories and career and vocational assessments. Knowledge of job search and placement strategies.

			Preferred / Desired Qualifications:
			Knowledge related to contemporary issues in counseling. Commitment and ability to build relationships and work effectively with community and consumer organizations, including agencies of higher education.
			
			Assignment:
			Duties will include teaching Career and Vocational Rehabilitation courses, developing field placements and providing field supervision, advising students and may include assisting students with research. Credential courses may meet in late afternoon, evening, or on Saturday. Responsibilities also include participation in University service, scholarly activity, and involvement in community service.
			
			Appointment:
			This is a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank. Salary will be dependent upon qualifications and professional experience.
