Subject: Dissertation Research Study Request--Spirituality in Counselor Education
Hello!
My name is Cassandra Johnson, and I am a doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program at Capella University. I am currently working on my dissertation under the advisement of my Dissertation Mentor, Dr. Amie Manis. My dissertation is intended to investigate if a relationship exists between spiritual beliefs, preparation relative to ASERVIC competencies, and spiritual competency.
I would greatly appreciate your students' participation in this research study. To assist me, simply forward the student invitation below to your CACREP master's-level students currently completing practicum and internship requirements. Aside from this, there are no additional steps to take as the informed consent letter and instructions for participation are included for students to review once they click on the survey link. Thank you for your assistance!
[Student Invitation]
Hello!
My name is Cassandra Johnson, and I am a doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program at Capella University. I am currently working on my dissertation under the advisement of my dissertation mentor, Dr. Amie Manis. My research study is intended to investigate if a relationship exists between spiritual beliefs, preparation relative to ASERVIC competencies, and spiritual competency among master's-level CACREP counseling students completing practicum and internship requirements.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. In order to participate, you must be at least 18 years old, and a master's-level student in a CACREP-accredited counseling program currently completing practicum or internship requirements. Any information you provide in this study that could identify you such as your name, age, or other personal information will be kept confidential. This survey will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
After completing the survey, you will have the option to submit your email address into a drawing in which three winners will be randomly drawn and given a $20 Amazon gift card. Survey responses will not be linked in any way to your name or program, and all email addresses will be deleted immediately after the drawings.
You will also have an opportunity to view a summary of the analyzed results and published dissertation. Although you will not be able to see real-time results because of SurveyMonkey's question number and response size limitation, you will be able to view the results within one week from the date the survey is closed. Once the survey is closed, access to the shared data page will no longer be available. The results provided in the SurveyMonkey database are solely intended for research participants for personal usage not for public distribution. Finally, once the entire study is completed and all signatures and approvals are obtained, you will be provided with a PDF attachment of the complete published dissertation upon request to the researcher via email.
Before beginning the survey, please read over the informed consent letter. No foreseen risks or discomforts are anticipated from participation in this study and you may withdraw at any time. This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at Capella University (IRB #2014-468). If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at cjohnson107 at capellauniversity.edu<mailto:cjohnson107 at capellauniversity.edu> or my dissertation mentor at amie.manis at capella.edu<mailto:amie.manis at capella.edu>. If you decide to participate, please click on the link below to access the website or copy and paste it into your browser.
