This is the first state license law in the nation to endorse clinical rehabilitation counselors as a result of the CACREP / CORE affiliation. Ohio is on the cutting edge!

OHIO HOUSE BILL 232 SIGNED INTO LAW!

Sub. H.B. 232 (Sears & Milkovich) modifies the laws governing professional counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists.  This legislation also includes CRCs!  This legislation had passed the House earlier in the year and on April 2, 2014, it passed the Senate and was concurred in the House the same night!  Governor Kasich signed the bill into law on April 10, 2014. This has been a long journey and the support by all rehab professionals and organizations like the Ohio Rehabilitation Association were critical to this Bill passing in the version it ended up taking including the historic compromise between CORE and CACREP.  Ohio is the first state to make this happen.
