Assistant/Associate Professor in Counseling and Guidance
Reports to: Chairperson of Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies Department
Scope: Teach graduate courses in CACREP accredited program in Counseling and Guidance, advise graduate students, serve on university committees. This is a full time tenure track position offered for Spring 2014. Responsibilities include teaching master's level counseling courses, supervising practicum and internship students at off campus sites and at the university training lab, student advising, program development, scholarly and research activities and participating in university and professional committees. This is a security-sensitive position subject to Texas Education Code 51.215 which allows the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
Education/Experience: Earned doctorate in Counselor Education, Counseling, or related area. Doctorate from a CACREP approved program is preferred. Demonstrated continuous success in school counseling, university counseling center or community counseling agency experience is preferred. A minimum of three years of full time successful university teaching is preferred. Responsibilities include teaching graduate level courses, supervising practicum and internship students, student advising, and program development. Scholarly and research activities and participation in university and professional committees will be expected. The candidate should be licensed or eligible for licensure in Texas. Candidate must be able to work with a majority Hispanic student population.
Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
