Grace University, a Christ-centered educational institution, invites 
applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Counselor 
Education – School Counseling Track.

Position Description - Reporting to the department chair, the 
assistant/associate professor's responsibilities include teaching graduate level 
courses in Counselor Education, advising students, assisting with the CACREP 
Self-Study (in progress), and providing service to the University, community, 
and profession. Grace University offers a Master of Arts with a track in 
Clinical Mental Health Counseling and will begin offering a track in School 
Counseling starting Fall 2013. The position is a 10-month appointment with 
possible summer employment opportunities and the salary and benefits package is 
competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Required Qualifications: 
-Evangelical Christian with strong emphasis towards integration of faith in 
education.
-Working toward completion of a doctorate in Counselor Education and 
Supervision.
-The ability to teach graduate courses using a Learning Management System 
(Blackboard, Its Learning). 
-Experience as a School Counselor. 
-The ability to work with diverse student populations. 
-The ability to use and model innovative technology. 
-Effective communication and leadership skills.
-Willingness to sign affirmation of University’s Doctrinal Statement (see 
below).

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience teaching at a faith based institution.  
-Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision by August 1, 2013. 
-Graduate of a CACREP accredited program. 
-The ability to conduct scholarly research, publish, and perform service.
-Experience in higher education. 
-Experience with CACREP regulations.
-Experience teaching in a k-12 environment

Screening of applications begins January 15, 2012, and continues until the 
position is filled. The position starting date is August 1, 2013. A complete 
application consists of the following electronic documents: a cover letter 
addressing the qualifications cited above; curriculum vitae; and the names,

professional references. Additional documentation will be requested for
