On behalf of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE) I am excited to invite you to the 13th Annual NCRE National Educators Conference in San Francisco, CA, April 17-19, 2013. 


We have an exciting and engaging conference planned. We are very excited to announce that the Keynote speaker is Froma Walsh, Ph.D., MSW, Chicago Center for Family Health Professor and Emerita, University of Chicago in the School of Social Administration and Department of Psychiatry will be hosting a 3 hour workshop on Wednesday, April 17th from 2:00pm – 5:00pm and a Keynote speech on Thursday, April 18th from 8:30am – 9:30am.

I am also pleased to share NCRE has established a Ted Daniels' Scholarship Fund.

As you may already know, Dr. Ted Daniels' was an esteemed colleague at the University of the District of Columbia.  His passion and commitment to the field and his students was well known and respected.  The Council on Diversity and Equity has created a scholarship fund in Dr. Daniels’ honor to help expose students to the field he loved so passionately.

To raise money for the scholarship, the Council on Diversity and Equity is sponsoring the first annual Dr. Ted Daniels’ silent auction at the NCRE Spring 2013 Conference from Wednesday, April 17th to Friday, April 19th and also selling a t-shirt.  More detailed information can be found below.

Please view the link below which will include a front and back  digital image of the t-shirt, order form, and more detailed information regarding how to order, cost, payment information, and deadline date to order your shirt.

3. Agenda/Vendor: This tab includes the following: draft agenda, Keynote Speaker and Vendor/Sponsorship opportunities.  Deadline date to place an AD in the program booklet is Friday, March 15, 2013.

New agenda items added as of February 25th are as follows:

 *   CORE Graduate Rehabilitation Counseling Program Coordinator Training: Preparing for the Accreditation Process
 *   Master’s Level Student Recruitment Fair
 *   Update on the Status of the CORE Proposal to the 20/20 Workgroup

4. Registration/CEU’s: This tab includes the following: Registration link and rates, NCRE membership and Continuing Education Units.  Early bird registration rates end on Friday, March 22, 2013.

5. Hotel/Transportation: This tab includes the following: Hotel Reservation Rate and Link, Airport and Accessible Transportation, and Hotel Discounts for our attendees   The cutoff date for room reservations at the conference rate of $149.00 a night for a Standard Room only (one king or two beds) plus 12% tax is Friday, March 22, 2013.

6. Airline Discounts: NCRE has obtained airline discounts for the Spring 2013 conference. These discounts are extended to all attendees.  This tab includes information on the airline carriers and the discount offered in this program.
