March 15:            Part 2: Supervision and Counselor Development

Curriculum includes models of supervision, learning models, stages of supervisee development and transitions in supervisees/supervisor development, supervision interventions, awareness of individual differences and learning styles of supervisor and supervisee, cultural differences and multicultural competencies, relational dynamics in the supervisory process, and awareness of the developmental process of the supervisory relationship itself.
This four-part training is designed for mental health professionals (counselors, marriage and family therapsits, social workers, chemical dependency professionals, psychologists) working towards their supervision credential or obtaining continuing education in supervision to maintain their status. Workshops are didactic and experiential. Participants may pick and choose or take all four workshops in the series. All workshops are approved for supervision CE hours by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board), The State of Ohio CSWMFT board), and the OPA-MCE.  Part 4 is also approved for the ethics CE credit.

April 19:               Part 3: Management and Administration: Supervisory Issues

May 10:                Part 4: Professional Responsibilities & Legal/Ethical Issues in Supervision


Presenter: Paula J. Britton, Ph.D.
Dr. Britton is a professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at John Carroll University. She is a licensed psychologist and a PCC-S, with over twenty years of diverse clinical experience.  She has given over 100 local, state, and national professional presentations and workshops in the areas of supervision and ethics and has numerous publications in the area.
