LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY
TENURE-TRACK COUNSELOR EDUCATOR POSITION
The Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA is searching for a tenure-track, counselor educator at the assistant/associate professor rank beginning Fall 2013. The applicant must have an earned doctorate in counselor education from an accredited university (preferably a CACREP accredited program) though ABD applicants may be considered. Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a professional counselor in the state of Louisiana
Primary responsibilities are teaching courses in the School Counseling Program and Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, research/scholarly activity, and service to the department, college, and university. Counseling and Guidance faculty also spend time mentoring graduate students and assisting in student research.
The Counseling and Guidance Program, Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, and Louisiana Tech University have a strong commitment to diversity. Specifically, applicants should be able to work in a training program that focuses on issues relevant to ethnic minority populations, women, and persons with disabilities and other underrepresented groups. Applicants should also be able to integrate content on diversity into each course. Applicants with areas of expertise (e.g. addictions, family counseling, etc) that contribute to working with a specialized population are also encouraged to apply.
