Community Counseling Program- Assistant Professor (CACREP), probationary/Tenure-Track position (Probationary is meant to define union-contractual language, all tenure track faculty hold probationary status upon hire).

The Department of Community Psychology, Counseling and Family Therapy is housed in the School of Health and Human Services. The Community Counseling program is currently in transition to Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The department offers the following additional degrees and programs: Graduate programs in, College Counseling and Student Development, Rehabilitation Counseling, School Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy, and , Behavior Analysis, and B.S. in Community Psychology, and Chemical Dependency. Teach graduate courses in Community /Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with ability to teach undergraduate courses, advise students, contribute to student growth and development, and engage in scholarly achievement, research and creative activity. Graduate courses to be taught include: Counseling Across the Lifespan, Counseling Assessment, Career Development, Research Methods and Statistics, Theories of Counseling, Professional Ethics, Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, and Multicultural Counseling.
Required:
· Ph.D or Ed.D in Counselor Education (ABD in Counselor Education considered if doctoral degree will be completed by date of appointment)
· Candidates must demonstrate readiness to teach graduate courses in Community Counseling/Clinical Mental Health Counseling, through previous teaching and/or doctoral preparation.
· Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Preferred:
· Graduate of CACREP-accredited program or experience in CACREP review strongly preferred
· Candidates should be prepared to teach similar undergraduate helping skills and diversity courses.
· Clinical experience
· Eligibility for MN LPC/LPCC licensure
· Background in addictions and/or marriage and family counseling
