Hello All


The College of Education’s School Counseling Program seeks Assistant or Associate Tenure-Track faculty in a CACREP accredited program beginning September 2013 at Seattle University.  The counseling program focuses on preparing counselors to be leaders for a just and humane world. Primary responsibilities include teaching general and school counseling courses, an active scholarship agenda that aligns with the university mission of justice, and commitment to service at the institutional, local, state, and national levels.  Commitment to diversity and capacity to work with diverse populations required.  In relation to the core responsibilities of this position, capacity to be active in Seattle University's Youth Initiative<http://www.seattleu.edu/SUYI/> is desired.

Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Counselor Education, minimum of 2 years of successful
P-12 counseling experience; potential for leadership responsibilities; and a commitment to social justice. Graduate of a CACREP program and familiarity with CACREP accreditation; commitment to Transforming School Counseling and urban schools, knowledge of Education Trust initiatives; successful University level teaching experience; and interest in the university areas of community engagement, justice, leadership, formation and globalization.



Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of successful P-12 experience as a school counselor and experience and/or interest in teaching Appraisal and Career Courses.  Experience in the design and delivery of distance learning.
