Greetings Colleagues,
The Department of Counseling at The University of Akron seeks to fill a full time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor in Counseling beginning August 2013.
The successful applicant will join the Department of Counseling with accredited masters and doctoral programs. The master's programs are in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling (MFT/C), School Counseling (SC), and Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC). The doctoral programs include the Counseling Psychology (a joint program with the Psychology department) and the Counselor Education and Supervision with two track (1) Counselor Education and (2) Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling.
Requirements and Responsibilities: Teach clinical/didactic courses in counseling at the masters and doctoral level. Chair and serve on doctoral dissertation committees. Advise masters and doctoral students. Engage in research, publication, grant writing and professional presentations at the state and national levels. Participate in accreditation activities, serve on Department, College, and University Committees and work collaboratively with other faculty in the College's programs and departments.
Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program required. Doctoral degree must be received prior to start date of August, 2013. Eligibility as a certified/licensed Professional School Counselor and/or Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio required.
