Dr. Thomas E. Davis is retiring June, 2012 after serving Ohio University as Professor of Counselor Education since 1985.  A retirement reception will be held on Wednesday, May 30th, 3 - 5 PM in Ohio University's McCracken Hall 214B.  Please plan to attend and extend well wishes to Tom.

Dr. Davis began his career at Ohio University as Assistant Director in Career Planning and Placement in 1982 before joining the Department of Counseling and Higher Education.  He earned his A.B. in General Studies from Ohio University, his M.A. in Counselor Education from Marshall University and his Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Ohio State University before joining us here at Ohio University.  In Dr. Davis' honor it is easy to see the major contributions he has made to the counseling profession and the university community.  He has produced numerous scholarly publications and presentations both statewide and nationally and served as a member and officer in many professional organizations and accrediting agencies in his field. He has been the recipient of several Awards of Distinction over the span of his career and in addition to his rank as professor; the past three years he served the University as the Secretary to the Board of Trustees. His teaching portfolio in The Patton College of Education includes introductory and advanced graduate-level courses in Counselor Education. Dr. Davis will continue teaching as part of the University's Early Retirement Program.
