Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a closely–related field, successful teaching experience in a graduate program in counseling, demonstrated capacity for scholarly productivity and the potential for external funding, a strong identity as a professional counselor,  and a demonstrated commitment to the preparation of school counselors. Preference will be given to graduates of a CACREP-accredited program, and to applicants with previous experience as a school counselor, a strong interest in promoting national models for transforming school counseling, expertise with NCATE and CACREP, and an active research program focused on the preparation and professional development of school counselors. 

Responsibilities include graduate teaching, research in school counseling and securing significant extramural funding, and  provide leadership for outreach and program development consistent with the qualifications of the applicant and the needs of the department. 

A complete application must include a letter of interest, a current curriculum vitae, official transcripts, and three original letters of reference. Review of applicants’ materials will begin March 16, 2012, and continue until the position is filled.
