Subject: Paint Valley ADAMH Board Levy--Please Forward

Hello!

I am writing to all of you in request for your help in ensuring this levy for the Paint Valley ADAMH Board passes on March 6th! The PVADAMH provides funding for numerous services throughout our service area--services we would all miss if funding is eliminated.

This has become a Save our Services campaign. If this levy does not pass funding will likely be eliminated for Crisis Services and Big Brothers Big Sisters. This is not a mere threat, it is an unfortunate reality. We are chartered through the Ohio Legislature to provide services to people in the "most severely disabled" and "most emotionally disabled" populations; any additional services (including prevention services) are funded after services for these two groups of people receive funding.

Crisis Services and Big Brothers Big Sisters are services we fund for prevention. We are not mandated to fund prevention services. Due to a 50% reduction in budgets from the Ohio Department of Mental Health Services, and the Ohio Department of Drug and Alcohol Addiction services (only $27,000 from ODADAS to cover 5 Counties) our providers are already providing more services for less money. If this levy does not pass we will have to make additional cuts--likely to prevention services.

Everyone knows Big Brothers Big Sisters for their excellent mentoring programs. Truth be told, they are also excellent at alcohol and drug addiction prevention.

Attached you will find a flyer and a short PowerPoint presentation providing a history and overview of the Paint Valley ADAMH Board. We are reaching out to you in hopes you will please forward this information to any students and faculty who live in our service area including Ross, Pickaway, Pike, Fayette, and Highland Counties.

Lastly, please like and share us on Facebook often! We can be found under Paint Valley ADAMH!

Sincerely,

Bill Showman, M.Ed., PC., LCDCIII
