Show, by your actions, that you choose peace over war, freedom over oppression, voice over silence, service over self-interest, respect over advantage, cooperation over competition, action over passivity, diversity over uniformity, and justice over all.

Subject: Southeastern Cross Cultural Conference- Featuring the Dr. William Cross Lecture Series!!!
Georgia Southern University's Division of Continuing Education would like to invite you to the 12th Annual Southeastern Conference on Cross-Cultural Issues in Counseling and Education on February 15-16, 2013 at The Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah, Georgia.
The conference focuses on racial identity development, ethnic identity development, and gender and sexual orientation, from infancy through adult maturity. An understanding of this development is necessary to understand the dynamics of multi-ethnic and multi-racial groups in the United States. The workshop embraces an anti oppressive and multi-cultural perspective.
After the conference, attendees will:
" Develop a working understanding of the notions of racial, ethnic, and sexual identity.
" Compare the stages of identity development for different ethnic, racial, and cultural groups.
" Construct a picture of the way identity operates in the everyday adjustment of people of
color and other minority groups.
" Recognize how racial and cultural identity experience can influence interpersonal
relationships in corporate and educational settings.
