> The Department of Human Services at Wright State University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Rehabilitation Counseling (Chemical Dependency/Addiction Program Emphasis) position to begin mid August 2013. This position requires someone with a strong commitment to graduate training in rehabilitation counseling – chemical dependency and some undergraduate teaching in rehabilitation services. Also required is evidence of (or strong promise for) research, teaching, and professional service.

This position requires training and experience in the area of Chemical Dependency/Addictions, as well as experience teaching coursework in both face to face and distance education environments. Both rehabilitation masters programs, Chemical Dependency and Severe Disabilities are accredited by CORE, and are available fully online. This is a tenure track, 9-month appointment with the possibility of supplementary summer teaching. Full University benefits apply. > Responsibilities:
> 1. Teach undergraduate and graduate rehabilitation courses and provide clinical supervision. 
> 2. Advise master's students in the Rehabilitation Counseling: Chemical Dependency program. 
> 3. Serve as program advisor for the graduate Rehabilitation Counseling, Chemical Dependency program, revise curriculum as needed to meet changing needs of the profession and accreditation standards. 
> 4. Conduct a systematic program of research and participate in securing external grants. 
> 5. Serve on Department, College, and University Committees as appropriate. 
> 
> Required Qualifications:
> 1. Earned doctorate in rehabilitation or closely related field. ABD candidates must have completed degree requirements before the start of fall semester 2013.
> 2. Counseling experience working with people with disabilities.
> 3. Evidence and or potential for scholarly activity.
> 4. Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
> 5. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or registered to complete the CRC examination within one year after hiring.
> 6. Demonstrated formal training or extensive work experience in the area of chemical dependency/addictions.
> 7. Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with diverse
> populations.
> 8. Commitment to collegiality and collaboration.
> 9. Experience in computer technology, particularly multimedia development and course instruction in distance education via the Web/course management systems.

> Preferred Qualifications:
> 1. Teaching, clinical supervision, and advising experience in higher education.
> 2. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: medical aspects of chemical dependency/addictions, treatment modalities for chemical dependency/addictions, epidemiology of addictions, psychiatric rehabilitation, and/or rehabilitation technology.
> 3. Eligibility for Ohio Professional Counselor (PC) or Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC).
> 4. Eligibility for licensure through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
