Position Available:                One four-year fixed-term Assistant Professor in Community Psychology, in the Department of Counseling and Community Psychology, which offers the following degrees and programs: B.S. in Community Psychology, B.S. in Chemical Dependency, M.S. in Behavior Analysis, College Counseling and Student Development, Community Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Rehabilitation Counseling, and School Counseling.

Salary:                                                Commensurate with academic qualifications and experience.

Date of Appointment:                       August 21, 2012

Responsibilities:                     Teach undergraduate courses in Community Psychology and Addictions, and graduate courses in counseling and therapy, advise students, contribute to student growth and development, and engage in scholarly achievement and research and creative activity.
Qualifications &
Experience:                            Ph.D or Ed.D in Psychology or related field  required. ABD in Psychology or related field considered if Ph.D will be completed by August of 2012. Preferred candidates will have qualifications to teach undergraduate courses and some graduate courses such as: Introduction to Applied Psychology, Counseling Theories, Interviewing Skills, Theories and Diagnosis of Addictions, or Multicultual Issues. A desirable candidate will have demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.

& Philosophy:                        Applications must include a letter of interest that addresses the qualification and experience described, including experience in teaching community psychology courses, addictions courses and marriage and family courses, vita, transcripts of all graduate - level work (copies are acceptable for initial screening), and the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses of at least three references who can specifically comment on the applicant's abilities, experience and professional preparation.  Additional documentation may be requested of finalists. Review of applications will begin on May 1, 2012 and continue until the position is filled.
