Below are 2 job announcements for full-time positions at Minnesota State University Moorhead, one is a probationary tenure-track school counseling position and the other is a one year sabbatical replacement counseling generalist.  The Counseling and Student Affairs masters program is fully accredited by CACREP, offering college & school counseling programs.  Moorhead is right on the border with Fargo, North Dakota with a metropolitan population of around 200,000.  The area boasts of many sporting, historical and cultural interests.  The area public schools are excellent, and business opportunities are numerous.

Basically, it is one of those places that is a great place to live but you wouldn't want to visit there!

Assistant Professor of School Counseling and Student Affairs; Probationary/Tenure Track -
School Counseling Education and Program Coordinator

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with IFO collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
*    Earned doctorate by date of appointment in Counselor Education & Supervision, or closely related field.
*    Demonstrated evidence of successful college level teaching.
*    Demonstrated commitment to the success of students of diverse backgrounds including sensitivity to their needs and concerns.
*    National Certified Counselor status, licensed as a Professional Counselor, or eligible to be licensed as a school counselor in Minnesota.
*    Experience in K-12 School Counseling for at least 3 years.
*    Record of scholarly work commensurate with level of experience.
*    Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

Preferred:
*    Demonstrated evidence of successful graduate teaching.
*    Demonstrated skills in working successfully as a team member.
*    Demonstrated experience at grant writing or other external funding opportunities.
*    Demonstrated evidence of experience of successful counselor supervision.
*    Experience with CACREP accreditation visits & report writing.
*    Affiliation/involvement with the American Counseling Association, American School Counseling Association, or related divisions.
*    Demonstrated leadership or innovation in K-12 School Counseling activities.

Desirable:
*    Experience with Masters level research committees and capstone projects
*    Experience with online and technology/media enhanced instruction
*    Record of collaboration with other graduate programs on local, state, and national levels

Responsibilities:
*    Teach graduate courses in CACREP core and possibly in one of the program areas: School Counseling, Student Affairs, or College Counseling.
*    Supervise counseling practicum or internship.
*    Supervise Master's theses and capstone projects, advise students, and contribute to student growth and development.
*    Conduct scholarly or creative achievement or research.
*    Participate in activities for preparation & study in professional field.
*    Provide service to the University
*    Outreach service to the Fargo/Moorhead community.
