Subject: Earn 45 or 9 CEUs in College Admissions Counseling via On-line Course

Dear OCA Members,

Heidelberg University (CACREP Accredited) is offering a 5 week, 3 credit hour on-line course in College Admissions Counseling (Sem:CurrIss-Cou:CollegeAdmCoun - 11427 - COU 545 - DL1). This a-synchronous (meaning there will not be a set meeting time during the week) class was designed for elementary, middle, and high school counselors in preparing students for various types of post-secondary education. However, this course would also be beneficial for clinical mental health counselors who prepare children and adolescents for various types of post-secondary education.

The class will run from 5/21/12-6/22/12.

If practicing school counselors would like to use this training as part of their Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) and earn 9 CEUs, you will most likely need to fill out a pre-approval template before taking the class. You can find the ODE recommend form at their website: http://www.ode.state.oh.us/GD/Templates/Pages/ODE/ODEDetail.aspx?page=3&TopicRelationID=546&ContentID=15341&Content=118581 However, you must follow your local school district's guidelines for IPDPs.

Clinical mental health counselors can earn 45 CEUs (including your 2-year renewal ethics requirement) by taking this 3 credit hour class and earning a B- or better.

To register for the class, please contact Sue Rife, Associate Director of Admission, Heidelberg University, 310 E. Market Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883-2462, (419)-448-2097, sstine at heidelberg.edu<mailto:sstine at heidelberg.edu>
