Dear Ohio friends

I am happy to let everyone know that our friend and colleague, Dr. Tom Davis
from OU, will be participating in the Athens, Ohio version of "Dancing with
the Stars" on Saturday, May 21st.  Tom has been paired up with a
professional dance instructor, and together they have been working on the
Paso Doble (a Spanish dance), and Tom will be dressed as a matador.

How fun!

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Red Cross. (details
below)

So, here's how you can help.
The winners of this "competition" are selected based on votes. Each vote
costs a $5 donation to the Red Cross.  I think it would be great if Ohio
counselors and counselor educators demonstrated our support of Tom through
this effort.

You can send a check payable to Athens County Red Cross and in the memo
Line, write "Dancing event-votes for Tom Davis". It should be in PRIOR to
the event
if the votes are to count that night!!!

It can be sent directly to one of the co-chairs and board member - Cindy
Oremus at 7737 Country Club Drive Athens, OH 45701.

That would be great as ALL the proceeds from the event go directly to the
Athens County Red Cross.

Each "star" dancer works with a professional dance instuctor who helps
them create and choreograph their dance number/music. Each dancer has the
opportunity to dance the night of the event and it is VERY professionally
done. After each dancer performs, the crowd votes and the votes are
tallied. The top three are chosen and they dance again. Again people can
vote and then the winner is chosen. Its all fun and shouldn't be that
competitive but it is based on the TV show Dancing with Stars. We have
three judges and an MC who keep the evening flowing and who keep things
light and fun.
