Walden University invites applicants for Contributing (Part-Time) Faculty positions in our Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Masters in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling programs. We are seeking faculty who are interested in graduate level involvement, training graduate students at a distance and are committed to social change.

Walden University is a pioneer in student-centered distance education. An accredited graduate institution with a mission for social change, Walden is dedicated to high academic standards and helping students make a difference in their professions, organizations and communities.

The Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Masters in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling programs seek part-time faculty to teach and mentor students in their role as training mental health counselors. The programs focus on preparing students academically, professionally, and personally to become skilled counselors. The philosophical foundation of the program is based on: a) the scholar-practitioner model, b) culturally relevant pedagogy and practice, c) academic and experiential learning, and d) developmental instruction that includes an emphasis on personal growth. The scholar-practitioner training model is designed to develop students who integrate skills, knowledge, and research into practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for educating Walden University Students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources so that knowledge, information, feedback, and critique are imparted to and shared with students in thoughtful, carefully formulated, well written, and timely communications. Faculty members will report to their respective Program Directors and work closely with the Associate Dean of the School of Counseling and Social Service, Faculty Coordinators of their program specialization, full and part time faculty, academic advising, and administrative staff within the School of Counseling and Social Service.

An earned doctorate in Counseling, Counselor Education or Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution and experience teaching and mentoring Masters level students, including directing student research, is required. The ideal candidate will additionally have earned their terminal degree from a CACREP program and hold the appropriate counselor certification and licensure in their state.
