[Classclimate-users] Class Climate evaluation system OUTAGE today

Will this update erase all the work we have done so far?  I already have three department evaluations scheduled to go out on Monday.  I need to know if I’m going to have to start over when things come back online.

​Class Climate Customers,



Due to the issues that customers have encountered with the class climate system, we have been working with the vendor for the past two days to determine the best solution.  Based on our work we have determined that we have to take the system for a short time and have the vendor execute some database maintenance, and have our systems staff increase the memory on the server.  It looks as if our usage has increased to the point that we need additional resources to handle the load at critical times.  To that end we have scheduled the following:

At 3:00 pm today the class climate application server will be shut down in order for OIT systems administration to execute steps necessary to increase server memory.  Following that, we will prepare the database for required maintenance tasks by the vendor.  The application will remain down and unavailable until approximately noon tomorrow, 4/15/2015.  As long as we do not encounter any unforeseen issues, at that time the service will be restored with twice as much memory in the server and a completely refreshed and repaired database.  By doing this the semester end processes should run correctly.

We are sorry that this is impacting customers at an inopportune time, but when complete, customers should see an immediate positive impact on performance.

for the inconvenience and we will complete the work just as quickly as possible!
