Here are some great upcoming events:


*Mancala/Oware Tournamen*t- Would you like to play in a Mancala tournament
as part of the 2014 African Cultural Week? ASU and African Studies will be
hosting a Mancala game presentation and tournament on Tuesday April 8th.
The tournament is from 3:00-4:00pm. *To sign up please register, Here

*Who Are you?* (Panel Presentation)- This Wednesday evening (March 26th)
from 6:00-8:00pm in the Friends of the Library Room. The panel will be
moderated by Andrew Stadeker. Panelists will discuss what defines them as a
person and who they are.

*Sizwe Bansi is Dead *- This Friday evening (March 28th), Kwame Amanfo and
Kombe Kapatamoyo present Sizwe Bansi is Dead. Tickets are $5.00 for
studentsand can be found at the front desk of Yamada
International House. "Sizwe Bansi, unable to fend for his wife and four
children in the impoverished area of King Willamstown, departs to Port
Elizabeth in search of a better life. In the face of all adversity, he is
presented with an opportunity that also threatens the essence of his
existence."

*Passion for Africa Gala-* The Ohio University community is invited to join
as the the 50th anniversary celebration of the African Studies Program.
This gala will take place on Saturday April 12th from 6:00-11:00pm. The
event will include our 2014 African Heroine Award, the African Languages
and Literature Lifetime Achievement Award, African cuisine (3 course meal),
performances, and an open dance floor.  *Tickets are $10 for students* and
can be purchased (presale only) at the front desk *Yamada International
House. Please RSVp asap by purchasing your ticket. *
