President Mohamud was elected as the President of Somalia on September 10,
2012. A civic and political activist, Mohamud was previously a university
professor and dean. Additionally, he is the founder and Chairman of the
Peace and Development Party.

In April 2013, Mohamud was named to the Time 100, TIME magazine's annual
list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
