Dear Prospective Graduate:

On behalf of the Office of Multicultural Programs, I would like to invite you to participate in a special ceremony for African, African American and Hispanic/Latino graduates.  The 2013 Kushinda/Ritos de Pasaje Graduation Celebration will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 7:30 pm in Templeton Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

Kushinda/Ritos de Pasaje is a complement to the traditional graduation ceremony. It is a gathering of faculty, staff, parents, family members and friends of graduates, to celebrate their achievements. If you are graduating this year, here is your opportunity to be a part of this special event.  Please remember this celebration does not replace the university-wide graduation that will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, and we strongly encourage your participation in that ceremony.

To register go to: http://www.ohio.edu/culturalcenter and click on ALANA Graduation link and open the “STUDENT INFORMATION SHEET”.  Complete the form and send it to palmerp at ohio.edu<mailto:palmerp at ohio.edu>, no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, March 29, 2013.  The deadline to bring your $25.00 registration fee to the Multicultural Center is also 5:00 pm on March 29, 2013 as well. The fee includes a class reception/mixer, a certificate, a Kente/Serape cloth, and a class photo. The dates to take your individual photo for the souvenir booklet will be on:

   ►Wed, Mar 27 (5pm-8pm), Thu, Mar 28 (1pm-4pm), and Fri, Mar 29 (1pm-5pm)◄

Please sign up for a date and time when you turn in your registration form. The 2013 Class Mixer will be held on Wednesday, April 24. 2013, at 6:00 pm, in the Walter Hall Rotunda. The class photo will be taken prior to the reception.

If you know of anyone who did not receive this letter and plans to graduate, please photocopy the enclosed information for him/her, or have the individual pick up the registration materials in 205 Baker University Center. This event is open to all colleges within the university, all majors, and all degrees. We need YOU to make the 2013 ALANA Graduation Celebration a success.
