[ASU] World's top Natural Hair model

Hello everyone,

My name is Tiffany Bowden and I am a PhD student 
at the University of Illinois. I graduated from OU and was in ASU when I was there. I have been researching advertising 
representation of and messages to black women regarding our hair. My 
work has been about empowering Black women to make healthy choices about
 their hair. If you have seen the movie Good Hair or My Nappy Roots, 
then you know how much money is often spent on our hair (especially to 
straighten it or add weave to it). You also would know of the serious 
health risks that come with it. My goal is to promote natural hair in 
its numerous forms and simultaneously uplift the black woman so that she
 knows her own natural and unique  

As a part of this, I am in a 
competition running to be Taliah Waajid's Next Top Natural Hair Model. 
If I win this competition I will
 be able to be a  spokesmodel for the company and continue with my work 
in a new venue outside of the academy and help educate the public vs 
simply researching the phenomenon. This would also mean a great deal for
 my dissertation work. 

I am 
requesting your vote in the competition. To vote, I simply need you to 
respond to this email and let me know you would like to vote for me. 
Every email address is equal to one vote. So far I am in the Fabulous 15. Voting ends on March 5th. The crowning ceremony is April 28th in Atlanta at the World Natural Hair Show.
