 Applications are now being accepted for THE CHARLES J. PING INTERNATIONAL
STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD

Nomination/Application Form and Guidelines 2012 - 2013

 This award, instituted in 2010, and to be presented by the Office of
International Student & Faculty Services (ISFS), is designed to recognize
outstanding leadership by an international student enrolled in Ohio
University. This award is named for President Emeritus Charles J. Ping,
president of Ohio University from 1975-1994, to honor
his support for international education and exchange. President Emeritus
Ping’s leadership resulted in the expansion of international education at
Ohio University including the creation of the Ohio Valley International
Council (OVIC), which promotes the involvement of international students in
local schools through class presentations and other activities.

General Criteria

   - Successful completion of at least two quarters of coursework on the
   Athens campus
   - Evidence of meaningful leadership in the university and/or Athens
   community
   - Good standing with the university judicial system at the time of
   application
   - Good academic standing with the university at the time of application
   - Valid F-1 or J-1 nonimmigrant student status

 Individuals are encouraged to submit nominations for qualified students.
In addition, qualified students are encouraged to apply for the award
directly. Nominations/applications must be submitted online at
http://www.ohio.edu/leadership/events/gala.cfm  or in person to the *Office
of International Student & Faculty Services, Walter International Student
Center by 11:59 PM, Friday, February 24, 2012*. Please call ISFS at
593-4330 if you have any questions about submitting a
nomination/application.

The award will be presented at the 29th annual Ohio University Leadership
Awards Gala on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM in the Baker
University Center Grand Ballroom.
