<div style="TEXT-ALIGN:left">This award, instituted in 2010, and to be presented by the Office of International Student & Faculty Services (ISFS), is designed to recognize outstanding leadership by an international student enrolled in Ohio University. This award is named for President Emeritus Charles J. Ping, president of Ohio University from 1975-1994, to honor</div>
<div style="TEXT-ALIGN:left">his support for international education and exchange. President Emeritus Ping’s leadership resulted in the expansion of international education at Ohio University including the creation of the Ohio Valley International Council (OVIC), which promotes the involvement of international students in local schools through class presentations and other activities.</div>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN:left"><span>General Criteria</span></p></div>
<ul>
<li style="TEXT-ALIGN:left">Successful completion of at least two quarters of coursework on the Athens campus</li>
<li style="TEXT-ALIGN:left">Evidence of meaningful leadership in the university and/or Athens community</li>
<li style="TEXT-ALIGN:left">Good standing with the university judicial system at the time of application</li>
<li style="TEXT-ALIGN:left">Good academic standing with the university at the time of application</li>
<li style="TEXT-ALIGN:left">Valid F-1 or J-1 nonimmigrant student status</li></ul>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN:left">Individuals are encouraged to submit nominations for qualified students. In addition, qualified students are encouraged to apply for the award directly. Nominations/applications must be submitted online at <a href="http://www.ohio.edu/leadership/events/gala.cfm" target="_blank">http://www.ohio.edu/leadership/events/gala.cfm</a> or in person to the <b>Office of International Student & Faculty Services, Walter International Student Center by 11:59 PM, Friday, February 24, 2012</b>.
