[Aphio-L] FAM HEAD ISSUES AND REMINDERS

Hey bros!



As Ombuds, Melanie and I are here to make sure your experience as a brother
in Alpha Phi Omega is equitable and enjoyable across the board in the most
efficient way possible, so listen up as we address this issue!



It has come to our attention that there have been some problems thus far
with picking family heads.  Our chapter rules and by-laws state that we
need two family heads from each family, and having no one volunteer in some
cases is unacceptable.  We understand that it may appear to be intimidating
and more work added to your schedule, however, we can assure you that it is
not as bad as it seems.



In case you weren’t aware, the requirements for a fam head is to
essentially set aside 10 minutes at most to come up with family fellowship
events (dates/times) for the semester, give them to Fellowship so they put
the events in, and report spirit points back to us from chapter – That’s it!



What is even more disappointing is when our lovely fellowship chairs must
take it upon themselves to pick family heads, and then have the picked
brothers completely ignore the appointment and generate a larger issue with
attitude in doing this.  *If no one volunteers for your family and you are
appointed, it is your duty to accept the responsibility or find someone
else to take your place! (Ideally we should never have to come to this
issue)*



As always, any conflicts you come across in your experiences with Alpha Phi
Omega can be reported to us whenever you see fit, and we’ll be glad to help
you handle it!
