Minutes Quiz

1. What are the 3 membership mandatory events for actives?

Medical Frat- Golf scramble with proceeds going to Nationwide Childrens
Hospital, September 21st parents weekend! Go play golf with your parents!


President

   - Office hours- Monday 2-3 in Baker


Ombudsmen

   - Question of the week: What service project are you looking forward to
   the most this semester?
   - Financial aid forms by September 15


J-Board

   - Email us if you want to:
      - Go associate or early alum
      - You still have not sent us your grades
      - You have and issue with committees
      - You need to be changed on the website or are having listserve issues
   - Associate/Early Alum Info- according to the bylaws a member must be
   active status two terms prior to becoming associate or early alum


Treasurer

   - Dues $50
   - Associate $15


Service

   - Weeklies are up!
   - No longer need training for Kennedy Gallery Guards
   - Remember if you want to do dog walking/cat care you must fill out
   forms (dog walking must be turned in the tues before you plan on walking)
   - If you have your form give them to Allison at the end of chapter so
   you can start walking this week
   - This friday OU Mini Farmers Market
   - Saturday is the Sunshine Run! (need volunteers and runners!)
   - Fri-Sun Pawpaw festival!


GKTW

   - Leave Athens on the 28th
   - First shift at GKTW will be on the 29th the last shift will be in the
   morning on the 4th (thats the day we head back to athens)
   - Cost of the trip for one person will be $200 (not including personal
   expenses)
   - Please email us if you are interested
   - There will be a meeting for those who are interested after the next
   chapter with Robert
   - If you are interested in leading this trip, come to that meeting


Membership

   - RUSH STARTS TOMORROW!!!
   - Formal Rush is tomorrow (Monday) at 7pm in Baker Theatre, NO jeans,
   you have to dress up
   - Informal Rush is Tuesday at 7pm in Baker Ballroom, wear an aphio
   shirt, they will be doing break out activities!
   - It is a missed mandatory event if you don’t come to one of them
   - Mandatory events for actives
      - Activation: Thurs 9/26 7:15pm in Grover W115
      - History Night: Thurs 11/21 7:15pm Walter 135
      - Initiation: Fri 12/6 7:15pm Morton 237
   - Mandatory events for bigs
      - Snacktives Thurs 9/12 or Game Night 9/23 both at 7pm in Walter 235
      (both count fellowship events)
      - Bid Day Sun 9/22 6:45pm Walkter 235
      - Big/Little Night Thurs 10/17 8pm in Grover Gym
   - Rush shirts $9.50- give your $$$ at chapter
   - Membership committee please arrive 30 minutes early to rush events if
   you can help
   - Sign up to donate stuff for snacktives


Fellowship

   - Slice Night Wednesday 9/11 6pm
   - Snacktives Thurs 9/12 6:30pm
   - Every family needs 2 family heads
   - Homecoming sweatshirt design contest- send in your designs
   - Survey coming this week!
   - People who haven’t picked up your sweatshirts or tanks from last year
   talk to Vic
   - Spirit Jerseys (9/18) sign up for one on the website, price quote later


Fundraising

   - Tank Sales! 1st floor Baker 9/9, 9/11, 9/12, 9/17, 9/19 all 11-3pm
   - If you sign up for the first or last shift text one of the fundraising
   girls the day before
   - Chipotle Fundraiser: October 8th from 5-8:30, remember they are going
   to be busy so plan accordingly
   - Insomnia Cookies Fundraiser all day October 14th
   - Old Aphio shirts are $1
   - They still have hats ($8), tumblers ($10) and sunglasses ($5)


Youth Service

   - West Elementary library helpers is back! Go read to kids!
   - Turn in your pop tabs/ box tops


Relay

   - Committee meeting after chapter email us if you couldn’t make it
   - If you want your shirt from last year contact us or else were selling
   them


5k

   - ITS SATURDAY OCTOBER 5th at Tailgreat Park, Registration is 10am race
   is 11-2pm
   - Proceeds got to Good Works Inc, its an organization that provides a
   community of hope to those strugglin with homelessness, poverty and
   recovery issues. Along with other buildings they have Timothy house which
   is a shelter that covers 9 counties in SE Ohio and provides almost 200
   people with a place to stay each year. In addition to housing they supply
   about 21,000 meals to the poor and homeless each year. They do all this by
   donations and could really use our help
   - How to get your 5k hours: freeze pop fundraiser, bring 2 non-aphio
   people to the 5k, food donations, letter writing, flyering/chalking,
   donations for spaghetti dinner (Oct 3), registration tabling, donation
   letter printing, flyer printing, chalk donation
   - Sign up for you shirt size in September 22nd
   - Design the 5k shirt! It counts as an hour!


Service Week

   - Kick CF and other small events should be up later this week
   - Shirt signups/designs should be up soon
   - NO MAKEUP CHAPTER! November 3 to show respect for self (the theme of
   service week)


Awards

- Happy Birthday to Deena Benkey, Melissa Hayden, Kasi Reed, Rachel Colby,
Tori Carras and Kristen Hencsei!


Announcements

   - You CANNOT come to chapter, sign in and not stay for chapter...
   seriously this shouldn’t be an issue
   - Robert needs boxes for cardboard city! Save your boxes
   - Turn in your big application and rush shirt money
