Dear UC 1000 Instructors/Advisors,

I want to let you know about three upcoming training opportunities related to advising. I'll list these in order.


Advising Brown Bag: Friday, 10/18, 12:00-1:00PM, W111 Grover Center. I'll review advising basics—including how to navigate the Faculty & Advising Center—and will answer your questions related to academic advising. Kris Kumfer will be in touch soon with more information.

DARS Workshop: Monday, 10/21, 10:00AM-12:00PM, 233 Baker Center. Since we are moving to "DARS-less" advising this year, knowing how to create, print, and read DARS from all majors is more important than ever. In addition to pointing out key DARS features all advisors should consider when meeting with freshmen, I'll help you understand how DARS are arranged so that you can confidently interpret the DARS, teach students how to decipher the code, and help students plan a schedule, regardless of major. Please bring a laptop or tablet if you can.

DARS Workshop: Wednesday, 10/23, 1:00-3:00PM, 233 Baker Center. As above. Please bring a laptop or tablet if you can.


Whether you are a novice advisor or an experienced pro, we want to help you elevate your skills and serve students most effectively. Please attend as your schedule allows.
