Just a reminder that we will have Math League from 10-11:30 in Morton Hall room 322 on Saturday. We will be playing the game, "Spot It!" And discussing the mathematics behind it.
Note below that this weekend is also parents weekend. Good news: The way I read the email, the lots will be open for all to park in (double check below but that's how I read it). Bad news: There's a reason they are opening up these lots--there might be increased traffic!

OHIO Football Tickets can be picked up in the Office of the Dean of Students (345 Baker University Center)  through tomorrow (Friday) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Students will be able to pick up tickets on your behalf during these times if they have purchasing information and present their student ID.

Those tickets not picked up by Friday at 4 p.m. from the Office of the Dean of Students will be available for pick-up on game day (Saturday, 9/24) at the Peden North Tower Ticket Office beginning at 11 a.m. Tickets will be located at the sign designating "Public Will Call" and you will be required to show a valid photo ID when picking up tickets. Please arrive early to avoid lines.

Lastly, all university lots on campus will open at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016 to those without permits with the exception of red lots, blue lots, garages, and the areas noted below. These lots will remain open through the end of the day on Sunday, September 25, 2016. All vehicles must be parked within a regular non-metered, non-restricted space within the lot.

The following lots will be cleared beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016. These lots will remain closed through the end of the day on Saturday, September 24, 2016 and therefore should be avoided.

Lots 127 & 128: Outer Rings of Convocation Center
Lot 111: Baseball Field
Lots 132 & 133: Peden Stadium/Walter Fieldhouse
Lot 134: Walter Hall

Something new this year that I wanted to remind you about is that parents and family members can ride Athens Transit free on this weekend when their son or daughter that they are riding with uses their OU ID / Bobcat Pass. Well, Parents' Weekend is just around the corner. As parents ourselves, we know it can be a challenging time for both you and your student. Every student faces challenges. Some of them may be academic. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with classes. We would encourage you to have your students talk to their professors and even get some tutoring.

Some of you might have seen on social media the great meme, "Adulting is hard." Let your student know that the willingness to ask for help when you need it is a sign of maturity.

There are lots of resources at Ohio University, including tutoring, medical care and counseling. We don't want any student to be afraid or ashamed to seek help when they need it.



Go Gold During Parents Weekend!

Ohio University continues our partnership with the Go Gold Fund to unite families and communities affected by childhood cancer, inspire businesses and individuals to take bold action, and elevate the funding of childhood cancer research. This initiative also includes over 45 local businesses, the Ohio University sororities, the 1-year MBA program and Ohio University first-year Learning Communities.

In addition, the College Bookstore will be selling t-shirts for $10.00 and wristbands for $2.00, and half of the proceeds will benefit the Go Gold Fund.
