Subject: Faculty Fellow: 25% FTE with the Research Division
Please distribute as appropriate to your faculty members.
The Research Division is looking to hire a part time faculty fellow for the 2018-2019 academic year.
The position is for 0.25 FTE for the fall and spring semesters. This should not be interpreted as an overload contract – ideally the Faculty Fellow will be able to reduce their teaching load in order to successfully fulfill the duties of this part time position. The Faculty Fellow will report to the Director for Grant Development and Projects.
The Faculty Fellow will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of the Provost Undergraduate Research Fund (PURF) and Student Enhancement Award (SEA) proposal reviews. The PURF funds undergraduate research, scholarship and creative works; proposal reviews are conducted in the fall. The SEA funds undergraduate, graduate and medical student research, scholarship and creative works; the proposal reviews are conducted in the spring (see www.ohio.edu/research/funding.cfm for more information on these programs). This will entail answering applicant questions, convening the review committees, reading proposals, collating committee comments and distributing the comments to the applicants.
In addition, the Faculty Fellow will mentor faculty members who are conducting research, scholarship, and creative activity to strategize about potential funding sources and give input in crafting competitive proposals. Note, the intention is to match the expertise—discipline and/or funding agency—of the Faculty Fellow to potential applicants. Therefore, a strong background in external funding is required.
For full consideration, please apply by April 20th.
