Subject: [Theaterfacultystaff] Update on Erik Ramsey

Erik Ramsey was taken by ambulance to Riverside Hospital in Columbus early Friday morning of last week. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, an extremely painful condition. Although Riverside doctors are still unable to diagnose the cause of the pancreatitis, they began their treatment with pain medication. While being treated for the pain, Erik developed breathing problems and was admitted to the intensive care unit and has been in and out of intensive care since. If Riverside doctors are unable to determine the cause soon, they will remove his gall bladder as a preventative measure because gallstones are the most common cause of acute pancreatitis. Barbara has been sending out regular updates and occasionally posting updates on Facebook. We are hoping that Erik will be out of the hospital within two weeks, and will be fully recovered by mid to late September. In the meantime, please send him your thoughts, your Chi, or whatever else you feel may be helpful.

All best,

Charles
