Program Announcement: Open In Action

As a part of the University Libraries celebration of Open Access Week, come and listen to a group of Ohio University Faculty who have experience with open publishing as they share their experiences. From open access monographs to open access (OA) journals to creation of open textbooks our presenters will discuss the practicalities and pitfalls of open publishing

The session will be held on Wednesday October 26 from 1:00 to 2:30pm in the Friends of the Library Room. It will feature short presentations of faculty experiences coupled with a question and answer period. The presentation is sponsored by the University Libraries.



Our presenters:

Dr. Jennifer Fredette is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science. Her open licensed publication is Constructing Muslims in France: Discourse, Public Identity and the Politics of Citizenship (Temple University Press, 2014)

Dr. Daniel Hembree is an associate professor in the Department of Geological Sciences. He has published in the open access journal Palaeontologica Electronica and also serves as a Handling Editor for the publication.

Dr. Martin Mohlenkamp is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics. He and his collaborator Todd Young have published Introduction to Numerical Methods and Matlab Programming for Engineers online, along with a number of t

Mr. Kyle Snyder is a lecturer in the School of Media Arts and Studies. His book A Crash Course to Making Your Mark in the Recording Industry was published in conjunction with Focal Press and CreativeLive.
