This could be a great Tier II option in Applied Science and Math for our students.

Subject: Update about AT 3690: Tier 2 Applied Science

Dear arts colleagues,

Here is a quick update about the status of my course AT 3690, Health and Injury in Performing Artists, which is in the process of being approved for Tier 2 credit in Applied Science. I recently applied for this in order to provide a useful and interesting alternative for your students needing to obtain their applied science general education credit.

  * The course is currently scheduled for the spring semester on T/Th, 1:30-2:50. While the time period may conflict for some students, my straw poll of a few arts students in the SHAPe Clinic suggested that this was preferable over the other option at 7:30 am.
  * I am expecting the Tier 2 approval, being granted by the Provost's Office prior to UCC's final approval, to be effective by the time registration opens next week.
  * The course is already listed in the course offerings list. It has a capacity of 200 students. My presumption is that the Tier 2 tag will be added once the approval goes through.

In addition, I have another course, AT 3693, Musculoskeletal Movement in Performing Arts, that is currently progressing through the Tier 2 Applied Science approval process. I expect to teach this course for the first time next fall. It will be another option for your students in a science field related to performing arts.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Also, I would greatly appreciate you letting your faculty members in your divisions know about this option so they can advise their students toward it when appropriate.

I remain extremely grateful for the partnership I enjoy with the arts programs here at OU. With my very best wishes,
