"I am the sum total of all the choreographers I have ever worked with."
Chita Rivera

"There are two ways to do this play; with good wigs or with bad wigs."
Paula Vogel

"It is amazing and frightening how completely one's whole being becomes absorbed in the making of a play. It is almost as if you were frantically constructing another world while the world that you live in dissolves beneath your feet, and that your survival depends on completing this construction at least one second before the old habitation collapses."
Tennessee Williams

Dear Artist:

It is summer and what better time than to make an application for an OAC Individual Excellence Award. Remember though, this year we are only accepting applications in the following disciplines: Choreography, Music Composition, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Playwriting, Poetry, and Criticism. If you a visual artist you will have to wait until next year’s deadline. Please pass this information onto a fellow artist who may be interested in applying.

If you are a creative writer, choreographer or composer please read the Guidelines<http://www.oac.state.oh.us/grantsprogs/guidelines/StaticPages/GuidelinesPDF.pdf#page=72> and Appendix J<http://www.oac.state.oh.us/grantsprogs/guidelines/AppendixJSupportMaterialsArtists.asp> to learn about program and apply using our online grant application system OLGA linked here: https://www.culturegrants-oh.org<https://www.culturegrants-oh.org/> Remember the deadline is September 1, 2015 for the online application!

Also we wanted to share some information for artists that live in Cuyahoga County. Community Partnership for Arts and Culture has the following special announcement:
ATTN Cuyahoga County Artists: Applications open for the $15,000 grants: Creative Workforce Fellowship
Artists who call Cuyahoga County their home will be given the opportunity to compete for a research and development grant. The Community Partnership for Arts and Culture (CPAC) will distribute 40 Creative Workforce Fellowships<http://www.cultureforward.org/Our-Programs/Fellowship> in 2016. Artists of all disciplines are invited to apply for one of the $15,000 grants. Alongside the financial investment, 2016 Fellows will receive communications support to help spotlight the work and opportunities they are creating in the community and help connect them with residents. 4 free workshops<http://www.cultureforward.org/Our-Programs/Fellowship/Apply/Timeline> will take place in June and July of 2015.
The deadline to submit an application is September 4, 2015. Artists who reside in Cuyahoga County can apply to be reviewed in one of two discipline groups: 20 Fellowships are reserved for craft, design, media and visual artists, and 20 more Fellowships are reserved for dance, literature, theater and music artists.
The Creative Workforce Fellowships are made possible by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
