Subject: Faculty iBook Event
A hands-on iBooks workshop, facilitated by Dr. Greg Kessler will be hosted by Ohio University’s Academic Technologies and Emerging Technology Services on September 18, 2013 at 12:00pm-2:30pmin Gordy Hall 015.
This workshop will guide participants through the creation of an interactive ebook designed specifically for iOS devices (iPad, iPod & iPhone). Participants will learn how to embed a variety of instructional media objects, information gathering forms, and other extra-linguistic material. The incorporation of these rich media objects can support and enhance instruction. They can also promote the engagement of learners. Learners can also be content creators, engaging them in the learning process through the ability to produce impressive interactive ebook reports. Participants will create a media rich interactive book that can be distributed through email, disks, web space, as well as iTunes (for free or profit).
Mac computers will be available for 23 participants to use. If you have a Mac laptop, please bring it to the workshop to ensure that everyone has a computer to use. In the interest of time you should download the iBooks Author app in advance at the following url: http://www.apple.com/ibooks-author/
Pizza will be provided for workshop participants.
The 40 participant slots are first come, first serve. So register early!
