RE: Call for Comment on Proposed Handbook Changes
We hope your semester is off to a good start.
Please click here<http://nast.arts-accredit.org/index.jsp?page=Proposed%20Handbook%20Revisions> to review the first draft of a proposal to revise selected portions of the NAST Handbook.
While comment is welcome at any stage, please comment now if you have questions or concerns or if a text seems unclear. Specific language questions or suggestions are the most helpful as we work together to develop consensus.
The deadline for comment is September 21, 2012. Please share this draft with faculty, students, staff, and administration at your institution. Response information is provided on the cover page. In addition to using the link provided above, you can view the draft by going to the Standards Review<http://nast.arts-accredit.org/index.jsp?page=Standards+Review> section of the NAST Web site<http://nast.arts-accredit.org/> and beneath that, clicking on "Specific Standards Reviews."
Responses received during this comment period will be considered in preparing a text for a vote by email in early November. If necessary, there may be a second draft before the voting draft.
A separate vote on other proposals is scheduled to take place in March 2013 at the Annual Meeting in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You will receive calls for comment on those proposals in late fall.
At this time, we remind you to check the Current Notices<http://nast.arts-accredit.org/index.jsp?page=Current+Information> section of the NAST Web site to remain up to date on Association business and items of interest for your institution.
Thank you for your consideration of the standards draft and the call for comment.
