Below is a list of events surrounding The College of Fine Arts 75th Celebration.
The grey highlighted listings are in RTV or Kantner so please be aware of what will be going on in our building those days and join in!
Friday April 13, 2012
12:10-2 p.m.: School of Theater's traditional Lunchbag Meeting (in the newly renovated, Elizabeth Evans Baker Theater in Kantner Hall) will be a panel discussion of ANY AND ALL ALUMNI that are in town and willing to participate. This is the opportunity for you to tell your story/journey to our current students--- how you moved from being a student to where you are in your life today.
2:30‒5 p.m.: Classroom workshops and open shops/studios- walk in and see what's going on!
6–8 p.m.: Ohio University School of Art Faculty Exhibition Reception
/ Kennedy Museum (The Ridges)
This biennial exhibition of original works by Ohio University School of Art faculty (teaching, Emeriti and retired) presents artwork from a wide range of mediums including painting, sculpture, ceramics, prints, photography, graphic design, drawing, and new media such as video and installation art.
8‒9:30 p.m.: Reading of String Fever by Jacquelyn Reingold (MFA '04) (Forum Theater) In this comedy, which starred Cynthia Nixon and Evan Handler Off-Broadway, Lily juggles the big issues: turning forty, artificial insemination and the elusive scientific Theory of Everything. Lily's world includes an Icelandic comedian, her wisecracking best friend, a cat-loving physicist, her no-longer-suicidal father and an ex-boyfriend who carries around a chair.
9:30‒11 p.m.: Alma Mater Madness Casting and Rehearsal. 13 alumni playwrights have submitted short pieces to be cast and rehearsed in this time slot — it will be the best kind of mayhem, jump in and join the chaos.
11 p.m. – ??: Alma Mater Madness
featuring work written by alumni and performed by both current students and alumni.
Saturday April 14, 2012
2‒4 p.m. A Toast to Our Teachers.
A casual gathering onstage of the Forum Theater, recognizing the contribution of those who have inspired the lives of students throughout their many years of teaching in the School of Theater, highlights to include: Lonny Fraze, Holly Cole, Bob St. Lawrence, Alan Rust and honoring emeriti faculty George Sherman, Denny Dalen and Bob Winters.
6-7:30 p.m.: Cocktail Reception at Baker Center Ballroom / Cocktails & Hors d'oeuvres
Raise a glass with alumni from all of the Schools in the College of Fine Arts. Enjoy reconnecting with peers and faculty and toast to CoFA’s 75 years of creative work.
7:30 p.m.: Celebration Procession
Across College Green to Memorial Auditorium
The green will be filled with live open-air performances: dance, music, visual art, and theatrical happenings to enjoy as we make our way to Memorial Auditorium.
8:00 p.m.: College of Fine Arts 75th Anniversary Celebration of the Arts
The College of Fine Arts 75th Anniversary Celebration is the culminating event for our 75th Anniversary. The program will be a celebration featuring outstanding performances and presentations by renowned artists in dance, theater, music, film, visual, and interdisciplinary arts. The production will honor the faculty at College ofFine Arts whose teachings have inspired many lives.

9:30 a.m.: The Arts Alumni Advisory Board Breakfast
/ Walter Hall Rotunda.
The Arts Alumni Board will host a bagels-and-coffee breakfast for all alumni. At this breakfast the Arts Alumni board would like to take the opportunity to inform Alumni on how they can be involved in continuing to support the Ohio University College of Fine Arts.
